Christie Chiles Twillie
Christie Chiles Twillie is a music director, conductor, composer, and sound designer working in theatre and film. Originally from West Virginia, Christie's life has been immersed in the arts, most notably in music, dance, and composition for theatre. Christie’s creative team credits include collaborations with: McCarter Theatre Center, Goodspeed Musicals, Asolo Repertory, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Skylight Music Theatre, TheaterWorks Hartford, Cape Fear Regional Theatre, Geva Theatre, American Players Theatre, Paramount Theatre, Marriott Theatre, Northlight Theatre, Porchlight Music Theatre, Definition Theatre, Chicago Children’s Theatre, Children’s Theatre of Madison, Seattle Children's Theatre, American Music Theatre Project (AMTP), Forward Theater, Milwaukee Chamber Theatre, Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival, The University of the Arts, Northwestern University, and The University of Chicago.
Since 2007, Christie has served as Music Director and Piano Conductor on over 50 musicals including Sweeney Todd, Into the Woods, A Little Night Music, The Color Purple, West Side Story, Newsies, HAIR, Dreamgirls, Five Guys Named Moe, The Gospel at Colonus, The Fantasticks, Shrek, In the Heights, Jesus Christ Superstar, Spring Awakening, Lippa's Wild Party, Big Fish, Cabaret, Working, Side Show, Urinetown, Cinderella, and Spamalot. Christie’s original compositions and intricate sound designs have been featured in Notes from the Field (TimeLine Theatre), Clyde's (TheaterWorks Hartford), Fireflies (Northlight Theatre), The Mountain Top (American Players), We Are Continuous, Vietgone (Geva Theatre), A Raisin in the Sun (Invictus), America 2.0 (Definition Theatre), The Niceties (Forward Theater), Carmella Full of Wishes (Chicago Children's Theatre, First Stage Milwaukee, Seattle Children's Theatre), Home, Stew, Kill Move Paradise, Black Butterflies, Pretty Fires, The Way She Spoke (Milwaukee Chamber), and Yellowman (Fleetwood Jourdain Theatre).
Christie’s film scores can be heard in Alone, The Pandemic Trilogy, A Space for Empathy, and The Clearing, a short film selected for the 2021 Milwaukee Film Festival.
Christie is a proud member of MAESTRA, Musicians United for Social Equity (MUSE), Theatre Musicians Association, and the American Federation of Musicians. She is fluent in Logic, MainStage, Abeton, Finale, and Sibelius. Christie's Bachelor and Masters studies were in Piano Performance, and she holds a minor in Dance.
