Michael Moore | Founder & Partner
Michael Moore (he/him) is a Theatrical Agent with over 30 years of experience in the entertainment industry. He began his career as an actor when, in 1992, he moved to New York City from Kansas with the assistance of a major grant from the Kansas Cultural Trust. In 2001, he relocated to Los Angeles and worked on numerous desks, including that of Scott Stuber, then-President of Production of Universal Pictures. In 2004, Michael founded his own management company in Los Angeles specifically devoted to the representation of creatives and special artists.
In 2008, Michael joined Paradigm Talent & Literary Agency in New York as a theatrical literary and booking agent. In 2010, he founded Michael Moore Agency (MMA).
Since its creation, MMA has grown to include 7 agents and hundreds of clients, both in New York and around the globe. Michael represents writers, composers, directors, designers, choreographers, and music directors in all areas of the entertainment industry.
Michael is and/or has previously been a member of the Broadway League, the League of American Symphony Orchestras, Opera America, the Point Foundation, and a board member of the Ojai Playwrights Conference, Western Arts Alliance, the Performing Arts Exchange, and the Association of Performing Arts Presenters. Michael has a B.A. in Theatre from University of Kansas (1992) and a J.D. degree from Fordham Law School (2018).
Sarah L. Douglas | Partner
Sarah L. Douglas (she/her) joins the Michael Moore Agency as a partner having worked independently since 2019, building on her 35-years of experience and well-earned reputation for advocating and shepherding the careers and artistry of theater artists. She began her career with literary agent Helen Harvey, one-time head of William Morris’ Legit Department and, to her good fortune, her mother. Her background includes a twenty-year association with the legendary agent Flora Roberts, as well as having spent fifteen years as the co-head of the theatrical literary department of Abrams Artists Agency. She continues her role as owner and administrator of Flora Roberts, Inc. in addition to her role at MMA. Her clients include Maury Yeston, Richard Maltby, Jr. & David Shire and Jennifer Tipton as well as the properties The Diary of Anne Frank and The Gin Game and works by Alice Childress, Ionesco, Dorothy Parker, Jean Anouilh and Christopher Fry.
Beth Blickers | Agent
Beth Blickers (she/her) represents artists who work in theatre, dance, television and film. She started her career at the William Morris Agency, where she began work after graduating from NYU. Beth has served on numerous jury panels including the Weissberger and Ed Kleban Awards and has facilitated industry related workshops and panels for organizations and universities around the country. She is the Past President of Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas and is the Board Chair Emeritus of Theatre Breaking Through Barriers, a New York company that works with artists with disabilities
Ben Izzo | Agent
Ben Izzo (he/him) is currently a Literary Agent specializing in the representation of playwrights, directors, composers, and theatrical designers. He previously held positions at Roundabout Theatre Company and New York Theatre Workshop and served as an associate producer for the inaugural season of Fulcrum Theatre Company in New York City. In his eleven years at A3 Artists/Abrams Artists Agency, his over 60 clients' work has appeared on stages all over the world and have been nominated or won every major award including the Tony, Drama Desk, Lortel and Whiting. He has been a past judge for the New York Musical Theatre Festival and Kleban Award in addition to being a lecturer at New York University and Hunter College.
Lucy Powis | Agent
Lucy Powis (she/her) joined Michael Moore Agency after 5 years at A3 Artists Agency, where she represented writers, directors, designers, composers, choreographers, and more. Before that, she held positions in the artistic/literary departments at Roundabout Theatre Company, Williamstown Theatre Festival, and Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. Her producing and dramaturgy credits include work at The Public's Under the Radar Festival, Next Door @ NYTW, New Georges, Bushwick Starr, Ars Nova's ANT Fest, Rattlestick, The Segal Center's PRELUDE Festival, HERE, and the LaGuardia Performing Arts Center. She hails from Toronto and holds an MFA in Dramaturgy from Columbia University.
Rose Quealy | Agent
Rose Quealy (she/her) is an arts advocate with over 20 years of experience in theatrical management. In her representation of creative team members, Rose applies a nuanced understanding of the production process and clients’ individual needs to advance their professional sustainability and fulfillment. Based in Chicago, Rose began her career as a stage manager. During her first 10 years, she stage managed numerous productions with Steppenwolf, Writers, Congo Square, Northlight, and others, along with multiple PBS television specials produced by HMS Media. She also fostered the development of over a dozen new plays before beginning a residency at Paramount Theatre, where she stage managed 13 of their Broadway Series productions. In 2015, Rose transitioned into a producorial role at the helm of Paramount’s production department, where she remained for 9 years. Rose’s most impactful and gratifying accomplishments have always been those that serve artists. The desire to invest more professional energy into this work is what led her to Michael Moore Agency, where she remains motivated to amplify creative forces who lead with kindness and make exquisite art.
Noah Ezell | Agent
Noah Ezell (they/them) represents Obie and Lortel winning playwrights, directors, designers, and dramaturgs working from small regional theatres up to Broadway. Prior to MMA, Noah worked as the theatre department coordinator at Independent Artist Group and in the literary departments at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center, Williamstown Theatre Festival and the Vineyard Theatre.
Giuliana Russo | Assistant
Giuliana Russo (she/they) is a graduate of Barnard College/Columbia University where they dedicated their extracurricular time to writing and directing musicals and holding leadership positions in other performing arts groups. She continues to pursue these passions while supporting Michael Moore, Sarah Douglas, and their diverse, award-winning client rosters. She has a BA in Medical Anthropology and is a member of the Columbia University Varsity Show Alumni Board.
Katy Zapanta | Assistant
Katy Zapanta (she/her) is a Filipino-American dramaturg, writer and producer with a focus in musical theater. A graduate of Carnegie Mellon, she received a BFA in Dramaturgy. She currently serves on the board of the New York Drama Alumni Community. Broadway credits include Bob Fosse's Dancin' and KPOP.
Ryan Abrams | Assistant
Ryan Abrams (she/her) is the Assistant to Ben Izzo and Lucy Powis at Michael Moore Agency. After a year in Dublin with Cystic Fibrosis Ireland, where she led nationwide fundraising and social media campaigns, Ryan is thrilled to return to the world of theatre. She has previously worked with Gemini Theatrical Investors, Jermyn Street Theatre in London, and the New York City Ballet Membership Department, gaining experience in arts administration, investor relations, and creative marketing. A magna cum laude graduate of Muhlenberg College with a BA in Business Administration and Theatre, Ryan is passionate about supporting and amplifying theatrical talent.
Lauren Keenan | Office Administrator
Lauren Keenan (she/her) is a writer and filmmaker based in Brooklyn, New York. She graduated from Tulane University with a BA in English and Digital Media Production. Before moving to Michael Moore Agency, Lauren worked as an Assistant Production Coordinator in TV and film, including on Apple TV’s Blackbird and AMC’s The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live.
