Michael Moore | Founder & Agent

Michael Moore (he/him) moved to New York City from Kansas in 1992 to begin his career as an actor, with the assistance of a major grant from the Kansas Cultural Trust.  A few of his credits include Cyrano, The Musical (Broadway, dir. Ebby Habbema), the original cast of Alan Menken’s A Christmas Carol (Broadway, dir. Mike Ockrent), the national tour of The Scarlet Pimpernel, Bette Midler’s remake of Gypsy on CBS (prod. Craig Zadan & Neil Meron; dir. Emile Ardolino) and HBO’s Mrs. Harris with Annette Bening and Sir Ben Kingsley (prod. Christine Vachon; writer/dir. Phyllis Nagy), among others. During this period, he worked on-and-off as an assistant at Touring Artists Group (now the Booking Group), served as company manager for the South American tour of Grease!, and toured the country of Greece with a millennial concert tour of American Musicals.

In 2001, Michael relocated to Los Angeles to assist Marc Epstein, Nicole Kidman’s manager, at Handprint Entertainment, and subsequently joined Universal Pictures to assist then-President of Production Scott Stuber. While at Universal Studios, he had longterm temporary assignments in the offices of Stacey Snider, Jeffrey Kirschenbaum, Cindy Gartner, and Nancy Nemecek. In 2004, Michael founded his own management company in Los Angeles specifically devoted to the representation of creatives and special artists.  One such special artist was Taiwanese piano prodigy Kit Armstrong who Michael placed on The Late Show with David Letterman, subsequently receiving recording offers from Universal Music and Sony/BMG.

Michael produced several concerts for California State University Northridge with renowned artists Frederica von Stade, Linda Eder, The Gramercy Trio, David Parsons, and Metropolitan Opera sensation Angela Brown. He also produced two large-scale “event” international rallies and campaigns in New York City for the United Nations and World Health Organization. In 2005, Michael made his Broadway producing debut with Hal Holbrook’s 50th Anniversary production of Mark Twain Tonight!. In 2008, he produced the Roger Rees’ one-man show What You Will to rave reviews at American Conservatory Theatre, which subsequently played the Royal Shakespeare Company and in London’s West End. That same year, Michael joined Paradigm Talent & Literary Agency in New York as a theatrical literary and booking agent. 

After two years at Paradigm, Michael founded Michael Moore Agency under the umbrella of Smart Magna, a global literary and visual media agency headquartered in Athens, with additional offices in Berlin and Barcelona. Together with business partner, Alex Constantinides, Michael represents writers, composers, directors, designers, choreographers, and music directors in all areas of the entertainment industry. 

Michael is and/or has previously been a member of the Broadway League, the League of American Symphony Orchestras, Opera America, the Point Foundation, and a board member of the Ojai Playwrights Conference, Western Arts Alliance, the Performing Arts Exchange, and the Association of Performing Arts Presenters. He is a graduate of the University of Kansas, where he received a B.A. in Theatre and studied French. Michael holds a J.D. degree from Fordham Law School and passed the New York State Bar Exam.


Ben Izzo | Agent

Ben Izzo (he/him) is currently a Literary Agent specializing in the representation of playwrights, directors, composers, and theatrical designers. He previously held positions at Roundabout Theatre Company and New York Theatre Workshop and served as an associate producer for the inaugural season of Fulcrum Theatre Company in New York City. In his eleven years at A3 Artists/Abrams Artists Agency, his over 60 clients' work has appeared on stages all over the world and have been nominated or won every major award including the Tony, Drama Desk, Lortel and Whiting. He has been a past judge for the New York Musical Theatre Festival and Kleban Award in addition to being a lecturer at New York University and Hunter College.

 


Lucy Powis | Agent

Lucy Powis (she/her) joined Michael Moore Agency after 5 years at A3 Artists Agency, where she represented writers, directors, designers, composers, choreographers, and more. Before that, she held positions in the artistic/literary departments at Roundabout Theatre Company, Williamstown Theatre Festival, and Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. Her producing and dramaturgy credits include work at The Public's Under the Radar Festival, Next Door @ NYTW, New Georges, Bushwick Starr, Ars Nova's ANT Fest, Rattlestick, The Segal Center's PRELUDE Festival, HERE, and the LaGuardia Performing Arts Center. She hails from Toronto and holds an MFA in Dramaturgy from Columbia University.


Rose Quealy | Agent

Rose Quealy (she/her) is an arts advocate with over 20 years of experience in theatrical management. In her representation of creative team members, Rose applies a nuanced understanding of the production process and clients’ individual needs to advance their professional sustainability and fulfillment.

Based in Chicago, Rose began her career as a stage manager. During her first 10 years, she stage managed numerous productions with Steppenwolf, Writers, Congo Square, Northlight, and others, along with multiple PBS television specials produced by HMS Media. She also fostered the development of over a dozen new plays before beginning a residency at Paramount Theatre, where she stage managed 13 of their Broadway Series productions. In 2015, Rose transitioned into a producorial role at the helm of Paramount’s production department, where she remained for 9 years. Rose’s most impactful and gratifying accomplishments have always been those that serve artists. The desire to invest more professional energy into this work is what led her to Michael Moore Agency, where she remains motivated to amplify creative forces who lead with kindness and make exquisite art.

Sylvie Staiger | Associate Agent

Sylvie Staiger (she/her) A “Midwest Transplant” from Akron, Ohio, Sylvie developed a passion for performing arts and sought to develop her career outside of the suburbs. She relocated to Chicago earning a BA in Theatre Directing and Business of Performing Arts Management at Columbia College Chicago where she trained as a director, actor, and producer. While attending college in the Windy City, she made her directorial debut with Diana Son’s play, “Stop Kiss,” a complex piece detailing the incidents before and after two girls share their first kiss on the streets of New York City. As an agent, Sylvie continues to champion and advocate for marginalized theatre artists.

 Sylvie prides herself on the fulfillment of her team’s potential and draws inspiration from collaboration with her clients. Sylvie keeps her devotion to theatre arts ever-present. She frequents plays and musicals to strengthen her knowledge of New York City’s finest directors and creatives. Additionally, she relishes studying classic film works: her preferred era 1990’s dramas. As an associate agent, she regularly corresponds with high-profile creatives nationwide and globally.
