Julia Noulin-Mérat
Julia Noulin-Mérat is an American-French-Canadian producer, production designer, and the CEO and General Director of Opera Columbus. Julia is Creative Director for More Than Musical in Hong Kong, and is the Artistic Advisor of Guerilla Opera. She was previously the Associate Producer at Boston Lyric Opera for eight years. Julia has designed 400+ opera, theater, and television productions, including 25 new operas and 22 new plays. Other projects include a TEDx talk (on site-specific opera productions in the modern age for Opera Omaha), Neverland for China Broadway ($20 million, 50,000 sq ft immersive theater piece in Beijing based on Peter Pan, dir. Allegra Libonati), PPE-friendly outdoor festival productions for Atlanta Opera (dir. Tomer Zvulun), an immersive Pagliacci for Boston Lyric Opera (dir. David Lefkowich), and Playground for Opera Omaha (national touring operatic sound sculpture, comp. Ellen Reid). Julia’s work has been featured in Opera News, LiveDesign, the New York Times, and the Wall Street Journal.
