Linda Roethke

Linda Roethke is Director of Graduate Studies at Northwestern University’s MFA Design Program, where she is also a Professor of Costume Design. Most recently, Linda designed Fever Dreams for the Contemporary American Theatre Festival, and Smoky Mountain Christmas Carol at Queen Elizabeth Hall in London. Her artwork has been recently exhibited in "Heads Up" at Palette and Chisel, Chicago, and her costume designs were exhibited as part of the international exhibit “Costume Design at the Turn of the Century,” which began in Moscow. Accolades include a Jeff Award (An Ideal Husband at Court Theatre), a Suzi Bass nomination (The Geller Girls and The Underpants at Alliance Theatre), and a Connecticut Circle nomination (A Little Night Music at Connecticut Rep). She received her MFA from the University of Iowa. Linda has designed for the Arena Theatre, Baltimore Center Stage, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, McCarter Center, Alliance Theatre, Steppenwolf Theatre, Public Theatre, Kansas City Rep, Cincinnati Playhouse, Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Paramount Theatre, Utah Shakespeare Festival, Connecticut Repertory Theatre, Arden Theatre Company, Center Stage, Maltz Jupiter Theatre, American Players Theatre, Court Theatre, Northlight Theatre and The Goodman Theatre.
